Good Day . . .

. . . from Tuckerville.

Justin pulled shift yesterday and is still at school attending classes.  He is suppose to be home around 4-ish . . . but tired he is and I’m sure he’ll crash, hopefully reaching, either, the bed or the couch prior to passing out. :)

Kiddos have a mild cold but I’m not complaining.  It seems its been a rough winter for folks with kids this year . . . all the illness and stuff.

I’m enjoying being able to leave my sliding glass door open for the fresh air to come in my house.  Thats one of the top reasons I dislike cold weather, it gets so stuffy with closed windows and heaters running.

My plants outside . . . the very few that I have . . . are blooming. :) I love spring! Hopefully I can get some seeds started here very very soon. I think some vines would be nice, considering they are residing on a lattice railing, it would look nice growing down perhaps. :) Any ideas of a good vine with pretty flowers . . . majority sun-worshiping . . . let me know!!

I have some good coffee in my possession at this moment . . . thanks to some dear friends of ours that know me a little too well. :) Mmm mmm, good stuff!! I think I’ve had like 6 cups today . . . hee hee. :)

Well, here’s some pics cuz I’m outta words for now. I love flowers. If you ever think of me . . . get me flowers. :) haa haa.

Oh, so tiny white flowers.  Not so much in focus, but I don’t care . . . captures the subtle beauty just fine! :) And the sun! :)

Played with the effects on this one quite a bit but its fun and bright. :)

Nope, not an old country fence (you would see sky if that was the case) just my downstairs patio railing . . . note the ceiling above. :) But how quaint a flower! Love it! Good thing I love it . . . I might be the only one. :) hee hee

Light makes a photo . . . thats my personal, have no idea what I’m talking about, opinion . . . caught this one just right, in my naive opinion. :)

Hey, just a slight celebration of spring in Tuckerville! I hope you all had a great weekend and your week has started off positively grand.

God Bless!!

stinkin’ camera

I am a dunce. We, Justin, myself, Tobias and Samuel, all went to the zoo with Justin’s grandma, aunt, niece, his mom, dad and sister. I had only met his grandmother once and had never met his aunt. It was not a beautiful day but the rain did hold out until we were loading into our cars afterwards. But, despite the lack of sun, we had a fantastic time and the boys warmed right up to their extended family and all was well.

Oh yeah, I’m a dunce . . . I’m a dunce because I forgot my camera. Forgot my camera like I get together with these people every weekend and the zoo is a monthly affair . . . like I’ve got so many pictures of this type of outing, who needs more. Ugh! Yeah, I regret forgetting the camera more than I have anytime in the past. :(

His Aunt and Grandma were taking plenty of pics . . . so I’m hoping I can solicit pics from them . . . out of the goodness of their pee-pickin’, related-to-me-now, hearts.

No, they are fabulous people and I was honored that they included us and blessed us with their limited time in the area, as well as his grandma treating everyone to the zoo.

Now, I just need pictures so I can bore the heck out of all of you with the excited-toddler-running-for-the-primate-cage-faces and look-its-an-elephant-pooping . . . wow-that-stinks-face.

The Portland zoo is a very nice park! Very very enjoyable. And, bonus, we got to hear Tobias mimic the Peacocks all the way home. :)

Ok, thats all . . . that was Wednesday, by the way. I guess its been a few days since I’ve written. oops

Starting yesterday, if we weren’t sleeping, we’ve been outside . . . has anyone experienced how warm it is out there today! Holy mackerel!!

God Bless! Enjoy that sunshine!!

ps, today is the T’s birthday . . . . I will post more later on that.

It looks beautiful outside . . . from the view through my windows, contained in the warmth of my home.  But we ventured out this morning to be reminded that, yes, winter coats are still needed. And I find myself turning heaters on . . . hmm

I made the best bread ever . . . :)   A friend of ours . . . or of Justin’s, from school gave him a ‘friendship bread’ starter thingy. I’ve never been aware of these baggies of goodness in my whole existence on Earth, but we received one from R, oh geez, 3 weeks ago. I don’t know, about a month ago.  Anyway I made the one she gave me . . . but 4 starters were spawned from that one start.  You’re suppose to give them away . . . not horde them as I have done.  I tried, mind you . . . I tried to give them away, I did!  But to no avail . . . they remained on my counter and baking day was last Sunday.  If you aren’t aware of this phenomenon . . . you get the start and you mush the bag and add some minor ingredients for 10 days and on the 10th day you add some more stuff and bake it . . .

Ok, so I made one baggy of the mix and decided in my pea-brain that putting instant coffee in it would create a nice flavor. So, I proceed to boil 6 oz of water, dissolve the instant coffee (I do this with cookies, mmm)  and pour the boiling contents directly into my prepared mix.  Ok . . . somewhere along the line I forgot you HAVE to cool the instant coffee water to add it . . . so, as some reading this have already determined, it came out like rubber.  It didn’t rise like it was suppose to.  So I wasted that baggy. :(

I had to buy more flour so they other 2 baggies remained distilling on my counter (the fourth baggy had busted, yay me).

You can flavor this mix pretty much anyway you want. So Justin buys apple pie filling.  That doesn’t interest me greatly, so I go to the store and pick up chocolate chips and cream cheese.  Yeah, can we spell h.e.a.l.t.h.y.  Apparently I can’t cook healthy.  Anyhoo . . . that was the first baggy . . . turned out too good, cuz I ate the first loaf (it creates 2 loaves per baggy).  I sent the 2nd one to school with Justin today.

The second, ok . . . ok, I’ll use the apples, geez.  I did and I added a lot more cinnamon and then did an oatmeal and brown sugar topping. It turned out nice too . . . but the chocolate is what called my name. :) That second loaf went to school today too . . . something tells me I’m going to be pretty popular with the fireman/woman in hubby’s world. Maybe . . . :)

Do you like all the positive and arrogant speech I’ve written so far about my spectacular bread. :)   It did turn out nice but then if dog crap had chocolate pieces in it . . . I’d be tempted to eat it . . . so that ain’t sayin’ much.

Yay for good bread . . . actually it reminds me more of Costco muffins . . . you know, the gigantic oily lumps of goodness? Mmm!

Ok, I will end this rambling post for your sakes.

God Bless and happy bread making . . . if you want a friendship bread starter baggy thingy . . . let me know . . . right now I’ve got 12 or so distilling on my counter. :)   I can’t seem to get anyone to take them. Or maybe I haven’t tried hard enough. :)

3:30pm

My sexy sweet man came home at 3:30 yesterday afternoon . . . surprising us all.  Midnight is more likely the time that I see him come in. And as tired and beat down as he felt, he showered, got dressed  . . . while I was slapping on makeup and dressing the kiddos . . . and we headed out.  We got mexican food and ate way too much . . . hung at the park with the kids and, as the sun set, we headed to DQ for icecream magical goodness.  After the boys went to sleep we just hung out laughing at random crap on You Tube and fell asleep peacefully around 11 or so . . . I really don’t keep a timeline on my day . . . I’m mostly guessing. :)

I enjoyed it thoroughly . . . thanks, partially, to this awesome spring time sunshine we’ve been getting! And warm, nice!!

My plants have started to sprout, the ones left from last year. The ones I thought were goners for sure . . . but lo and behold they liveth!

Ah, thats it folks . . . I write too much here . . . but its all good, right?  Remember that saying . . . I’ve always always thought it obnoxious  “Its all good.” And you have to say it with an southern accent. Special. So many special things coming from my generation. :)

Mums alive!!

winter sucks

Posted in spring with tags , , , on January 23, 2008 by imaginecreation

Me want spring!! The flowers! The sun! (ok, we got sun) The warmth that we all associate with the sun! The green on the trees! I’ve been seed shopping so I’m feeling the weight (or wait) of winter more so than normal. Yes, I plant my flowers from seed, doesn’t everyone?

I went walking at 3pm today, 3PM; there was still ice on the mud puddles. Ice. :( I have a feeling there will be a few more frost warnings before planting time. But in the meantime I found a cool site you can pick the seeds that go in your wildflower mix . . . yeah, I’m a sucker for the wildflowers!

below is the remnants of my wildflower bed last fall. I cried when we moved and I had to say goodbye to it . . . pathetic, I know . . . no reason for name-calling.  geez.
