Hubby Update

I’m a dork

Ok, well, he made captain . . . which is the higher ranking between the two; lieutenant and captain.

My head exploded with pride as he brushed my really loud and continuous congrats (might have included some cheerleader jumps and there might have been pom poms but I don’t rightly remember) . . . he brushed them off, like it was no big deal.  Ugh, so macho, these guys.

He was paired with a lieutenant (which the secondary position, just to clarify . . . Justin is his boss )

And they had the physical tests for first years last weekend (10 days ago). So he got his tentative list of recruits.

So, hubby is a bit overwhelmed at this daunting new task but, as most challenges he faces, he’ll take it on full force . . . freak. I think those genes got left out of me.  Maybe different kinds of challenges I don’t mind facing. hmm.  Doing search and rescue in tiny little tunnels . . . pulling yourself through on your belly, in the dark, whilst wearing turnouts . . . I start hyperventilating thinking about it.  Justin . . . he loves it.  I won’t even get started on my hate hate relationship with fire.

Ok, all done talking.  Between the two posts my eyes are about to pop out my skull and my brain is pulsating.  Nice visual, huh.

Here’s a nicer visual . . . I’m giving Samuel a shoulder ride, in the intense heat, day before yesterday . . . we’re at the dog park.  I know, we’re stupid. Hot, too hot for walking . . . only swimming or sitting in front of an air conditioner. But I loved it!

pss, God is good . . . I know that God has everything to do with our success . . . or, in this case, Justin’s success at this whole venture . . . no mistake . . . honor goes to HIM!!!  Thank you, Jesus!
