Ok, my phone line went out for three days, starting Monday. I had a good idea how much I used my lines of communication but I had no idea of how much of an outlet this and my phone are to me in my isolated state (Salem-land) . . . keeping me from entering crazy land on a regular basis.
My sisters, all three, live in Eugene . . . 50+ miles away. My few and far between friends, not to mention my church family, all reside in the Eugene area (and Harrisburg). So I talk on the phone and through the internet A LOT!! To keep in touch, to unload my woeful burdens (sorry mom), to laugh and generally keep from talking to myself . . . too much. No apologies for talking to myself, 3 year olds just don’t get it and I have to run it by my self to make sure I’m being heard.
Justin came in from the bedroom and I was in the kitchen, cleaning I’m pretty sure, catching me at my deep dark secret; talking to myself.
“Are you going crazy?” he asked, no concern for my well-being in his voice, only sarcasm.
Not sure why that had hurt my tiny little ego, but it did. I got over it though after discussing it with myself and deciding with me that it didn’t matter if he thought I was crazy . . . he was sure slow figuring that one out.
So I’m not crazy, I just visit periodically. Crazy knows me by my first name.
Ok, I’ll stop . . . that’s enough crazy for now.
God bless!
